Mexico has been a great destination to visit and to move to from decades now. Even though there’s been some concerns regarding security, we’ve been fortunate enough to welcome more and more expats each year.
Whenever people asks “why should I move to Loreto Bay instead of some other beautiful place in the country or anywhere in the world?” We’ll try to answer this question with very good reasons in the next few lines.
We’d like to talk about the home situation here in the first place. Loreto Bay was conceived as a sustainable community for anyone to enjoy. Living and commercial properties were built as part of a bigger plan so each home has its own personality but looks and feels as part of said plan. Architecture and design are perfectly executed to reaffirm the identity of the place and help neighbors coexist the best way possible.
This is also a multicultural place where people from all around the world come to live for a season or permanently (some of them on vacation, too). As such, you can learn a lot just by chatting with fellow neighbors. We truly feel everything that’s good from all around the globe gathers in Loreto Bay.There’s restaurants, activities and all kind of commercial enterprises that truly show the roots of some of the people living here.
So what about location? You probably know this by now, but our location is practically perfect. We have desert, mountains a sea as our neighbors and they all have purpose as well. Water comes down from the mountains on rain season and it is quite appreciated by our plants and animals in the desert zone. These mountains also protect us partially from any major hurricane or tropical storm activity, so we don’t have as much trouble with this as other southern regions of the Baja.
Loreto is growing too! Our airport is connecting with more places each year and we welcome a lot or cruise ships each season, so visitors come and give the local economy a well-received boost that helps the place grow and prosper even further. More visitors are becoming locals and they’re investing in commercial and living ventures.
Local and state authorities are also doing their part promoting fishing tournaments, local festivities, gastronomic festivals and all sorts of things to do, also giving tourists more reasons to come back. One of the most recent activities of this kind was the Loreto half-marathon earlier this month.
And what about the cost of living here? Fairly good compared with other cities in the state such as La Paz and Los Cabos. Mexican Pesos are the preferred currency, sure, but some places also accept your dollars.
Finally, we are aware some people are worried about security alerts some governments are issuing regarding Mexico as a destination for tourists and expats. Know that Loreto is one of the safest places in all the Baja and probably in all the country. Local authorities do their job and keep communicating about their activities in town. Loreto Bay is also really secure, our security office and officers are always on the lookout.
We could go on and on about the perks of moving here, but we’d like to invite you to visit the place, fall in love with it and start thinking about your life in Loreto Bay. Be sure to visit us, we’ll answer any and all questions you might have about life here.
