We’re fortunate enough to have seen a lot of people get and furnish their home at Loreto Bay. The mexican style of the place and our location pretty close to desert, land and sea calls for special furniture that can handle all the weather conditions all year long, specially if we’re talking about outside furniture.
We’ll talk about some ideas for your home, in case you need a furniture change or are thinking about remodeling your place. And take a look at some ideas from our community and the already furnished homes our sister company Aquarius Realty Group has for sale.
As you may know by now, the architectural design in Loreto Bay is 100% mexican style. Colors are bright and always happy, floors are designed to keep the temperature fresh and rooms usually have a high roof for air circulation. Our terraces, patios and watchtowers all have a view worth of your time.
So what kind of furniture do you select for a home like this? Let’s see some examples and talk about them.
Bedrooms should have a warm environment but be ready for hot temperatures during the summer. Big mattresses (Queen or King size) are ideal and comfortable, of course, but make sure you have sheets for all occasions. Rustic-wood style is ideal not only for your bed but closets, night tables and TV furniture all look great on classical wood. Preferably with some kind of treatment in case they experience some humidity during rain season.
Let’s go to the living room. Leather is a good option when it comes to couches, rocking chairs or similar. Some people like to complement the look of this spaces with artisanal cushions and handmade cloth mats. A big good coffee table is a must as well.
Dining rooms usually follow the wood tendency. No matter the size of it, you can choose to decorate it with candles, mexican-style tablecloths or some other mexican decorations such as catrinas, mache-paper figures or alebrijes.
Kitchens usually come with talavera finishings, a typical material here in Mexico that proves to be very resistant and fresh to counter the warmth of a busy kitchen. Not much to put here but make sure your fridge, stove and dishwasher are all matching. And a couple high chairs would be helpful if you have a breakfast bar or prefer to cook while seated.
Finally, your outside spaces should have a metallic construction to endure high temperatures and potential rain from time to time. You could choose hollow tubular furniture to make it more mobile but painted iron cast is also an option for outside tables and chairs. If you use cushions for the seats, make sure they are for outdoor use. Umbrellas are also quite good, but make sure they are weighted so you don’t lose them on a windy afternoon.
These are some choices we’ve seen around Loreto Bay. And can’t wait to see what you do with your own place.
